Calne Welfare Charities today
Here is a small selection of Calne residents we have been delighted to grant funding to over the last few years. From helping towards Food Bank donations, a small gesture towards a young lady's kickboxing dream, trips to Peru and Borneo as well as helping towards school trips; we've been proud to be part of each and every story. We wish every recipient great success with their chosen goal.

The garden at the Almshouses
We have been extremely lucky to have Pete Thegrate, an amateur video editor and resident of Calne, create this beautiful film for us. Enjoy this footage of the delightful garden.

The Almshouses through history
In 1682, at The Restoration, Almshouses for eight women were built in Kingsbury Street, Calne by Bremhill Vicar, Doctor John Townsen, in repentance for "Trying to make peace with Cromwell".
Here we have a small selection of the images that have been kindly donated over the years, giving a glimpse into life for the residents in these charming homes.

Please go to the Almshouses section for more information about these interesting and quaint homes.

We're always thrilled to hear from families of previous residents. If you would like to share any memories or images on this website please get in touch.
